The National Museum of the American Coverlet located in Bedford Pennsylvania will have on special exhibit fine items from the Kitty Bell & Ron Walter collection. The exhibit’s title, Flax & Fleece: Fiber to Fabric, focuses on processes and tools used in textile production typical to the American home and farm during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

In case you don’t know, flax is a plant used to make linen and fleece is wool shorn from sheep, goats, alpacas, and lamas. Not everyone knows these basic facts. Witness Jay Leno Jaywalking if you don’t believe me. Some of the nitwits he asks questions of can’t provide the simplest of answers to questions that even a lamppost would know.
