There’s a great website for identifying Kentucky antiques and decorative arts, the Kentucky Online Arts Resource (KOAR). Here’s the introductory paragraph straight from the site’s index page: “Welcome to the Kentucky Online Arts Resource (KOAR), a project of The Speed Art Museum. Launched in April 2006, KOAR provides access to over 800 images of Kentucky’s historic decorative arts, fine arts, folk arts, and design. Here, you can search for images of furniture, silver, ceramics, glass, textiles, paintings, sculptures, and other types of objects made or used by Kentuckians. KOAR further includes artists’ depictions of the state’s cities, towns, landscapes, and citizens. At present, KOAR focuses on Kentucky’s pre-1950 artistic heritage. KOAR is free to use: simply click on the Search KOAR button to begin.”
