André-Charles Boulle (German-French: 1642-1732). Known so well for his fancy marquetry that his name today is synonymous with the most ornate marquetry inlay, Boulle. He was the fashion leader of his time and caught the attention of the French crown. By the early age of 30 he had earned quarters in the Louvre. Read more about this dandy here.
