Retention Agreement for Court Actions [PDF]

Below are links to two PDF files of binding contractual agreements that Mr. Grove typically uses.

The first agreement is what one would expect to sign if one were expecting to have an appraisal for settling an estate, making a non-cash charitable donation, or scheduling additional insurance. This example has a bank trust officer/lawyer as the client on behalf of a decedent, but this simple contract is written in a manner any reasonable mind can understand:
A. Standard Letter of Agreement for typical appraisal assignments not involving litigation: Download here (151 KB).

The second agreement is much more detailed, stringent, and written defensively to protect the appraiser or consultant from careless behavior or predatory practices because in Court cases (i.e. divorce) the contestant’s lawyer will be the appraiser’s client, not the contestant.
B. Standard Retention Agreement for any assignment involving litigation, e.g. divorce: Download here (119 KB).
