Summer is almost upon us in the northern hemisphere; it’s time to go shelling once again. Nearly everyone likes to walk along a beach searching for nature’s pretty jewels, but few know what it is that they have found when luck presents itself. Well, nowadays on the Web there is an enormous selection of sites dedicated to identifying seashells. And if you happen to be in southwest Florida, visit the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum on Sanibel Island off the coast of Ft. Myers. Some of the best shelling in the world is available there just after storms. I know from first-hand experience.
