Gold is measured in parts per thousand. When it is marked 9 or 375 or both, the object is 375 parts per thousand pure, which is equal to 9 carats.

Other values: 24 carat is considered pure gold.

  • .375 = 9ct
  • .550 = 14ct
  • .750 = 18ct
  • .950 = 22ct
  • .995 – 999 = 24ct
  • “1” is used to signify absolute pure.
