ARTIST: “Luis Millingalli (Ecuadorian: 1959- ) was born in Ecuador on Dec. 19, 1959 in Tigua, Cotopaxi Province. He is a self-taught painter and paint in canvas and parchment. His first works were made in 1975 on parchment and with smalt about folkloric topics of the Andean towns until 1986. From then on with professional materials under the teaching of master Oswaldo Guayasamin. Luis Millingalli poses with his works of art in his Seoul exhibition. From 1988, he works in ecological topics, specially the forest, flowers and mountains. According to the critic, the value of his painting take roots in the simple transparency as he describes the Andean landscape and people of Ecuador. His inca ancestral inspires the spiritual creativeness of Millinggalli stimulated by the good and simple people of the ecuadorian highlands and their natural generosity. The artistic trajectory of Luis Millingalli has been widely recognized because of the great number of exhibitions in which he has participated in countries such as : Spain, France, Italy, Austria, United States, Brazil, Colombia, Panama, and Costa Rica.”
