“Oh, My Country”
by Josef Josten, at Camp Roeder
Published by LATIMER HOUSE, UK
Also inscribed in 1954 from Salzburg Austria, Camp Roeder BOQ.

Robert E. Roeder (July 25, 1917 – September 28, 1944) was a captain in the U.S. Army who received the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions during World War II, during which he was killed in action. Camp Roeder was named after him in 1951.

Jostin was an exiled Czechoslovakian official who worked with Jan Masaryk in Prague until just before Masaryk’s death and the eventual takeover by Communists. The book presents the author’s inside view of the Czechoslovakian crisis, which he attributes to careful planning done in Moscow. Josten also asserts that Masaryk’s death was a suicide rather than the result of murder.
