0387:: 1850s -RARE- Utility Stand, one-drawer, walnut: 22¼”H 21½”W 16⅝”D

1850s American, high-country Hepplewhite, one-drawer utility stand, walnut primary wood with white pine as its secondary wood in the front drawer, overhung rectilinear top on a conforming frieze, mortise and tenon construction, supported on four square tapered legs, rests on leg terms, original patina.

Interior is fitted with bilateral compartments with sliding lids. The low height of the table is an indicator of its utility as a cobbler’s stand or quilter’s table, both tasks performed whilst one is seated.
