1885:: Hollowware Storage Sleeve WHITE flannel cloth: about 12″Deep 8.5″W. Circa 1940s. One long pocket with both side over-flap meant for a single serving piece like a sugar bowl or something like that. Maker’s mark: “Hall’s (Kansas City Missouri)”.

Silversmiths’ cloth flatware storage sleeves to help mitigate tarnishing of your polished sterling and silver-plate flatware and hollowware pieces from tarnishing. It helps in the neutralizing airborne sulphur (the cause of tarnish) for years. I have a boxful of these things in all colors, shapes, sizes, and capacities. Most are made from 100% double napped tarnish resistant flannel cotton. Most have a maker’s name, which I have provided a pic of, respectively.
